Staff partners are looking for a skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to operations and ensure the efficient acquisition of goods and services to join their client in the Southend are . The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance of the procurement system. background in supply chain management and logistics, with the ability to negotiate effectively and manage supplier relationships. This role is crucial in maintaining the quality and cost-effectiveness of our procurement processes while aligning with organisational goals.
Duties
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives.
- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to contract negotiation and supplier selection.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their purchasing needs and ensure timely delivery of products and services.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and conditions to optimise costs.
- Monitor market trends and conduct analysis to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
- Utilise procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle EBS for effective tracking and management of purchases.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations throughout the procurement process.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, highlighting savings achieved and areas for improvement.
Experience
- Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain management role, preferably within a similar industry.
- Strong knowledge of logistics processes and supply chain systems.
- CIPS/MCIPS would be highly advantageous and is highly desirable.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful supplier management.
- Ability to analyse data effectively to inform decision-making processes.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
